Sneak Preview - Gorgeous, Drapey Printed Knit
I am furiously sewing sample garments for the upcoming Creativ Festival in Toronto (www.creativfestival.com). And one garment on the cutting table is the MixIt Tank from The Sewing Workshop pattern collection. Although it can be made in woven fabric, it is also suitable for knits. I decided on a brand new designer knit fabric with a touch of Lycra. What I love about this print is that it is organic looking; not the harsh houndstooth that can be so hard on the eyes. The colours are perfect for fall/winter and the red adds a nice kick that will play well for the Christmas season.
The fabric pictured here is sure to be a hit at the Creativ Festival. It is 60" wide and priced at $11.99 per metre. And one metre is all you need to make the MixIt Tank in a knit, if you cut the neck and armhole bands on the crosswise grain. For a woven fabric you will need the full amount of recommended fabric as these bands will have to be cut on the bias.
