Take a Bonnie Glass Class or Workshop in Her Studio
The talented Canadian fibre artist, Bonnie Glass, is offering classes in her beautiful studio in the picturesque hamlet of Glen Williams, just 30 minutes northwest of Toronto.
Beginner Bias and Collage: This is a one-day hands-on workshop and is a prerequisite for all other classes. You will learn to make and sew bias for use in collaged garments and home decor projects. You will master the upside down Hong Kong finish that Bonnie edges her garments with.
Level 1 - Learning to design your own collaged garment (or pillow or bag): a set of three two-hour classes with homework assigned in between. You will start with a vest in any length and you will learn how to apply simple methods of collage.
Level 2 - Taking the next step up to 'More': a set of three two-hour classes with homework assigned. You will step up to a jacket or coat and more design techniques.
Two new workshops coming up:Beauty for Ashes - recycling and reclaiming cloth into wearable art. InspiredGarments - taking something you find inspiring and interpreting it into a garment.
